The cost for documentary compliance to import records the cost associated with compliance with the import documentary requirements of all government agencies of the origin economy, the destination economy and any transit economies. It is calculated in US dollars. The cost for documentary compliance includes the cost for obtaining, preparing, processing, presenting and submitting documents. Insurance cost and informal payments for which no receipt is issued are excluded from the costs recorded. The component indicator is computed based on the methodology in the DB16-20 studies.
